Renata Brenha, who graduated with an MA degree in Womenswear Fashion from the Royal College of Art in 2018, made it her mission to explore the relationship between her Latin American roots and “the lived experiences of indigenous people and significant sociocultural movements”. Her collection titled “Materialising Spirit”, for instance, was based on an in-depth analysis of pre-Hispanic communities who are living in Mexico, and is inspired by the “food textures and rituals” she’s encountered during her stay. Brenha's pieces are a means to tell a story, to implement rituals and to relive history.
